Diet Comparator Study

A Randomized Study to Compare the Effects of a Healthy Beef-Centric Diet to a Healthy U.S-Style Dietary Pattern on Inflammation and Other Metabolic Health Outcomes in a Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) and/or Pre-Diabetic Population

The study will involve a total of 4 visits to our clinic (located in Guelph, Ontario) and 1 phone call visit over a 5-10 week period. If you complete the study in its entirety, you will receive reasonable compensation for your time and travel to the clinic.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of a healthy beef-centric diet on blood pressure, body weight and body mass index, glucose control, quality of life, and blood lipids compared to a healthy U.S-style dietary pattern.

Only a limited amount of spots available.

You may be eligible if you are:

Between 18 to 64 years old

Pre-diabetic and/or have metabolic syndrome conditions

Have a BMI between 25.0 to 39.9 kg/m² (inclusive)

Willing to follow all restrictions throughout the study

Not a habitual nicotine user

Diet Comparator Study

Participation will include:

4 visits to our clinic (located in Guelph, ON) and 1 phone call visit over 5-10 weeks
Consumption and preparation of assigned dietary intervention (healthy beef-centric diet or healthy U.S-style diet)
Daily diary completion for 6 weeks
Multiple blood draws
Fasting for at least 12 hours prior to 3 visits
